Cordyceps Militaris Mushroom Tea Recipe

Cordyceps mushrooms are very medicinal and are a great addition to any health conscious individual's diet.  Some of the reported benefits include:Cordyceps militaris mushroom tea and fruiting bodies on a plate

  • Reduced inflammation
  • Increased energy and oxygen absorption
  • Enhanced liver and lung function
  • Decreased tumor development
  • Increased sex drive

Serves 1

Ingredients:

5 medium sized dried fruiting bodies (1.5 grams)

8 oz water (approximately 250 ml)

Quadruple the recipe so you have some for later:

20 medium sized dried fruiting bodies (6 grams)

32 oz water (1000 ml)

Simmer the mushroom fruiting bodies in the water, on medium heat, for 30 minutes to 1 hour.  Stir occasionally.  Ideally, the mushroom's orange color will start to fade to white.  This is a great indication that the mushrooms have leached all their goodness into the water.

Strain out the mushroom pieces from the tea.  Add water to the tea to replace any water that may have evaporated during the long simmer.  It's ready to drink when the temperature has cooled to your liking.

We like to make a quadruple batch and save the extra for later.  Refrigerate extra tea in a quart canning jar with a tight-fitting lid. It will last for a week.  When you want more tea, warm it up in a pot on the stove, or in a cup in the microwave.  Easy peasy!

  • I love this recipe. I’ve tried it before and it was so simple to make. The tea gave me a boost of clean, focused energy that lasted. I can’t wait to have it again.
